WHY WE FOCUS ON SKILLS
We follow the guidance from the UK Athlete Development Model regarding Young Athletes:
​
- The Lactic Acid Energy System (used by adult sprinters) is not fully developed at this stage of development
- Training the Lactic System generates significant fatigue which impacts the ability to perform co-ordinated movements
- Previously co-ordinated movements need to be re-learned after periods of rapid growth & so until skills are re-mastered by athletes in their adult body shape, the focus on dedicated training of the Lactic Energy System should be a secondary consideration

TECHNIQUE COACHING
Through a variety of fun games & drills we teach your child how to run with better technique
We show them which part of the foot is best to land on and how best to use their arms
We develop their Proprioception & Neural Recruitment to make them more efficient athletes

SESSION DETAILS
We cap our sessions at 40 minutes to keep our coaching fast-paced and fun
We always ask Mum or Dad to stay & watch (or join in) so they can learn the Principles
of Training too & recognise the cues we are looking for to help their child improve their running
